Learning to drive can feel exciting, stressful or sometimes both in the same lesson. My role is to give you the structure, understanding and support you need to make steady progress without making you feel judged for being a learner.
About me
I’m Dawid, a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor and the person behind Open Way Driving Academy. I provide automatic driving lessons with a strong focus on safe decision-making, confidence and independence.
I became an instructor because good teaching can change the whole experience of learning to drive. A learner should understand more than which pedal to press or where to position the car. They should gradually learn how to read the road, anticipate risk, plan early and make sensible decisions without waiting for someone else to tell them what to do.
My lessons are friendly and relaxed, but they always have a purpose. We agree what we are working on, practise it at an appropriate level, review what happened and decide what will move you forward. As your ability develops, I reduce the support so that responsibility passes naturally to you.
How Open Way operates
Open Way Driving Academy is independently operated by Dawid, a self-employed DVSA Approved Driving Instructor and ELITE Driving School franchisee.
A real person, not a call centre
Open Way is personal. When you enquire, you speak directly with the instructor who will teach you. I am a father, I enjoy driving, travel, DIY, time outdoors, films, series and Formula 1 — but during your lessons the focus stays on helping you become the safest and most independent driver you can be.
