Automatic driving lessons
All lessons are delivered personally by Dawid in an automatic car and adapted to your current level. Tuition is provided by Dawid as a self-employed DVSA Approved Driving Instructor through Open Way Driving Academy.

FOR LEARNERS STARTING FROM THE BEGINNING.
Beginner automatic lessons
We begin with the controls, observations, moving off and stopping, then gradually introduce junctions, traffic, planning and independent decisions. You will not be expected to know everything immediately. Each new skill is introduced in a manageable way and connected to the bigger picture of safe driving.
FOR LEARNERS TRANSFERRING FROM ANOTHER INSTRUCTOR OR RETURNING AFTER PREVIOUS TUITION.
Partly trained learners
We start by discussing your experience and completing an informal assessment. This allows us to identify your strengths, any gaps in understanding and the best starting point. You will not automatically be taken back to the beginning, and you will not be pushed ahead before the foundations are secure.
FOR LEARNERS APPROACHING TEST STANDARD.
Practical test preparation
Test preparation focuses on consistent independent driving, safe judgement, adapting to unfamiliar situations and managing the pressure of test conditions. We can review manoeuvres, independent driving, show-me/tell-me questions and any recurring areas that reduce your reliability.
A REALISTIC ASSESSMENT WHEN YOU ARE APPROACHING TEST READINESS.
Mock driving tests
A mock test recreates as much of the practical test structure as reasonably possible. Afterwards, we review the result in detail. The purpose is not to frighten you or award a meaningless pass; it is to identify how your driving holds together when help is reduced and pressure increases.
FOR QUALIFIED DRIVERS OR LEARNERS RETURNING AFTER A LONG BREAK.
Refresher and confidence lessons
These sessions can focus on specific concerns such as busy roads, parking, roundabouts, unfamiliar routes or rebuilding confidence. The aim is to understand the cause of the difficulty and practise practical strategies in a supportive environment.
FOR QUALIFIED DRIVERS, SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY.
Motorway / post-test development
Post-test development can help you gain experience with motorway joining, lane discipline, overtaking, planning at speed and longer independent journeys. This service should only appear as available when Dawid confirms it is being offered.
The tuition car
You will learn in a 2021 Toyota Corolla Hybrid automatic with dual controls — a modern, comfortable car designed for calm, focused lessons.
